HARUKI MURAKAMI: After Dark
As someone who prefers to read books (and Murakami's books in particular) with little to no information on the storyline, I'll refrain from giving any more information outside the fact that this book concerns encounters set in Tokyo during the witching hours between midnight and dawn.
If you're new to Haruki Murakami, he is among the best and most compulsive authors I've read in the last ten years. He manages to create palpable characters with real dimension in a world that despite its occasional "magical realism" always seems more grounded in reality than most conventional novels.
Weighing in at a light 208 pages, translated by Jay Rubin, the book is now available from Random House in the US for $22.95 and will be available from Harvil Secker publishers on the 8th of June in the UK and Europe.
